The Wongs. I think Henry Wong, the son, is a BCSD deputy now. The pork with black bean sauce was exquisite. Mr. Wong would tell me I "needed to order something with vegetables next time," but the pork with black bean sauce was always too good to pass up.
Henry was the son. Joy-lin was the mom, or at least that's what she had us call her. She used to let me go behind the counter and serve glass-bottled sodas to her customers ... since we ate there all the time as well, maybe our paths crossed. I was sad when Il Vicino moved in. There's goes the neighborhood.
What Burque Chinese restaurant is worthy of eating at all the time?
I've been trying to find shrimp fried rice like I used to eat during my youth in Chicago. I've tried a bunch of Chinese restaurants but they are all either too bland, the rice is too fluffy, the shrimp is too big, etc.
...what happened to the sign? We used to eat at Chinese Gardens all the time back when it was one of the only Chinese places in New Mexico.
