Everyone knows that music editors across the globe are living in a secret state of permanent twitter with all the news of ancient rock idols taking the stage once again. And while childhood fantasies of handsome musicians may gloss over the reality of aging crooner's hip replacement surgeries or the fact that some tickets are literally more expensive than the very car you drive, to many it just doesn't matter. Fanciful fiction beats dowdy fact every day.

retirement better. They all have a hard time giving up the adulation. A man who used to own Ticketmaster in Albuquerque (when services charges weren't so
outragous) predicted that consumers would pay higher dollar amounts to see acts in smaller venues...but the fat got fatter by packing big stadiums at high dollar prices.
Makes me wish I porked up the $1500 a ticket to see the Rolling Stones at the Wiltern Theatre in LA on the last tour. Who needs to make a house payment anyways?

Well the day has passed that the aging bands could be seen once again in the various bars and venues. Foghat, Peter Criss, Dio, Molly Hatchet, Pat Travers, Flock of Seagulls, Eddie Money - the list goes on and on. I've seen all of them all around town in bars for under 20 bucks and mostly under 10. In no way would I see them at the casino for 50 bucks plus.
You wanna relive your youth?? Go see the up and coming bands at Launchpad, Sunshine and other places. You never know - I once saw the Red Hot Chile Peppers (with Slovik) here for 5 bucks.

I once saw David Lee Roth at Sandia Casino for only a couple of bucks and though I am not a fan of either Van Halen or David Lee Roth, the guy--who turns 54 this year--is still a showman who loves his craft, however questionable.
Plus for a man with such thinning hair, David Lee Roth really fights the good fight!
