Discounted Wolf Creek Season Passes
Wolf Creek Pre-Season Pass Sale - September 30th - October 8th, 2006!
Okay, they are still pretty pricey, but the powder there is phenomenal and it is a boarder's paradise.
The four-hour drive to southern Colorado is grueling, and the town has fewer decent amenities than most places throughout Third World.
But, you can board. Wolf Creek is not nearly as freeze-ass cold as Taos and if you get a season pass, then you have real freedom to get there at 10:30 a.m. and not sweat the wait for the half day discount, etc.
This is the first time in five years I won't be buying a pass. I think I made out financially about half the time over the years, but you board more with a pass and you live the dream.
Still, it is worth it and if you got the moola and the motivation, Wolf Creek lies within the mythic snow vortex where there is more and better snow than any place I've ever been.
Also the drive through northern New Mexico is spectacular, especially if you aren't driving there and back in the dark.
