We are a Albuquerque local, independent, family-owned Asian fusion bakery. At Mean Bao Bakery, we serve a unique mix of Asian and American pastries, breads and cakes. All items are baked from scratch every morning, using only the freshest, highest quality ingredients, locally sourced when possible including local honey, eggs, milk, flour, cheese, green chili and fresh fruit in season.
At Mean Bao Bakery, we celebrate diversity, not only in the product we produce, but in the people with which we associate. We hope that as you may choose a pastry you have never tried before, you would also choose to have an interaction with a person you don’t know…..just like pastries, you never know what you might enjoy!

The chef, Elvis Bencomo, developed an immense passion for food ever since he began cooking years ago at his first job cooking. Since then, his culinary knowledge has also grown with his passion, attending the culinary program at CNM, and working at restaurants. Chef grew antsy, though, craving to express his own unique ideas in the kitchen. So, he created Pasión Latin Fusion, a new restaurant that fuses techniques and ingredients found throughout Latin America with the chef’s own modern twist.
Pasión Latin Fusion is a colorful mixture of blended cultures found throughout Latin America, and many of the guests even dance their way to their tables to our Latin music playing in the background. Pasión’s mission really, is to gather a strong sense of community through serving our neighbors delicious, fresh food that is not found anywhere other than Pasión. There are many reasons why one should visit Pasión Latin Fusion. They have fresh, unique fused food and drinks created con mucho Pasión, a cheery staff, all wrapped in a comfortable atmosphere.

Rocka Taco
Posted by valerie in Bucks Box, Restaurants on December 5, 2012
Rocka Taco is an exciting new culinary destination from chef Matt Nichols of Gold Street Caffe. You can’t go wrong with a simple menu, fresh ingredients and generous portions. Every Rocka Taco comes in a 6″ cheese-crusted corn tortilla, and that crispy, cheesy crust, besides being delicious, strikes the perfect balance between hard and soft tacos. Stuff your tacos with shredded beef, pork carnitas, shredded chicken breast or grilled vegetables, then choose from a tantalizing array of fresh salsas. Sides of pinto beans and Spanish rice done to perfection are coming along for the ride. Top it off with some ice cold beer from the tap and you’re set for siesta!

Sandia means “watermelon” or “green chile” in Spanish and Sandia is the best of both. Sandia chile is a large chile approximately four to eight inches long. It dries to a deep burgundy color and comes from the Mesilla Valley in New Mexico. Sandia is also the name of the mountain range located in Albuquerque, New Mexico where the first Sandia Chile Grill was opened. At sunset the mountains turn a shade of pink and a spectacular site.
