How did you get started in this business?
When I was a young boy my father started me in the construction industry. He had me working with the finest craftsman in the industry. He taught me to always do the best you can while striving to make it better every time.
Why did you choose this business?
I wanted to do something creative and challenging that gave me the ability to change peoples’ lives and create a positive family atmosphere.
What is your business philosophy?
We believe that our customers are the best people in the world. They start as customers and end up as friends. If you own a pool, you want a friend in the pool industry!
What are your growth goals?
Our goal isn't to grow larger in size, just better in service and professionalism.
What is your company's greatest challenge?
Rising wholesale costs and shrinking retail pricing due to the economy are challenges we meet, while maintaining only commercial grade quality.
What contributions to the community (charitable or otherwise) are you most proud of?
We believe we are helping people keep their families together in times when there are so many distractions working against that goal.
How has the Internet affected your business and how do you think it might affect your business in the future?
The internet has changed our entire marketing ability for the better. Previously, we were limited to minimal display capacity. Now we can show our abilities to people who might otherwise struggle to conceptualize our visions. Multiple full-color concepts and images help people with limited visual skills.
In what area of your business do you invest the most energy?
All aspects. From paper to water … plus!
If you had to choose another career or start another business what would it be?
We love what we do. We love to create unique and unusual projects that are also cost effective and totally functional.
What words of wisdom would you offer to someone starting their own business?
Never let someone tell you, “You can’t do that.”
What's your favorite saying or quotation?
You get one shot at a first impression.
What do you look for in prospective employees?
We look for people who believe they make a difference in the business and who care about our customers.
Why do you believe your biggest gift is to your customer?
People go to work every day and work hard for their money. Work and life in general are tough and stressfulespecially in this economy. I believe that our customers deserve the absolute best, not just the cheapest they can get for their money. When our customers come home after a hard day of getting beat up and turn on our backyard oasis, the stress and problems of the day are not even an issue anymore. I believe we are exterior lifestyle therapists! We specialize in exterior lifestyle designs. If you tell us your wishes and dreams, we will put together a package for you that you can’t get from anyone else. We not only give our customers a backyard spectacular, we change the quality of life for their entire family. You’ll always know where your family is: Safe in your yard! I never minded buying hotdogs and sodas for my kids and their friends because I knew they were safe in my backyard. You know, none of those kids ever got in trouble because they always had somewhere to go ... my house. Having the ability to affect kids’ lives in a positive way is the most fulfilling thing in the world.
What inspires you?
A challenge will always inspire me. I like to blow our customers away with something they can’t get from our competitors. I thank God every day for the vision and ability He has given me.
Isn’t maintenance a nightmare?
With today’s technology, our pools can clean themselves, heat themselves, fill themselves and sanitize themselves. We leave our pools and spas on autopilot in your backyard. We attribute this to the fact that we use only proven, state-of-the-art commercial grade equipment with guarantees other companies can't provide. Every year we take from 60 to 80 hours of continuing education classes relevant to our profession. We have aligned ourselves with the largest professional pool orginizations in North America. Carecraft accepts only the finest of builders and service or retail professionals in the industry, then mold and teach them beyond anything a single company could achieve. We buy with such power that we can afford to give a higher quality of commercial products and warranties than our competition. Our full restoration department is second to none; our advanced technology and design capacities can transform your old nightmares into a self-maintaining pleasure to own. Try us! We charge nothing for design appointments and estimates. You owe it to yourself to check out the best possible options for your hard-earned dollars.
