Weekly Business Profile
Bosque Brewing Co.
Type of business:
8900 San Mateo Blvd., Suite I
Albuquerque NM 87113
Number of Employees:
What was your first job?
Between the five owners, we've been everything from motorcycle mechanics and bar tenders to computer programmers and commercial real estate appraisers.
How did you get started in this business?
With tiny home brewed batches in our back yards.
Why did you choose this business?
We knew that we all wanted to be in business together, so we decided to take our mutual passions for craft beer and turn it into a business venture.
What is your or your company's greatest asset?
Without the diligence and hard work of every single person involved in this company, from the owner/brewers to the server/bartenders, none of this would be possible. The Bosque family is our greatest asset.
Why did you choose to do business in Albuquerque?
We each love New Mexico, and as we began to put this company together there was never a question of where we wanted our base of operations to be ... it just had to be here at home, in the Duke City.
What motivates you to succeed besides the desire to make money?
The craft beer industry is made up of a wide range of characters, and we love being a part of such a diverse and eclectic community. Also, this business allows us to indulge in our creative selves, and we feel that being creative and loving what you do is one of the more critical aspects of being successful.
How would you define your position within the marketplace or within your market segment?
We are just one of many fantastic breweries here in New Mexico, which makes it an exciting time to be in this business. The market for craft beer is quickly expanding and there is still so much room for growth that we feel like there's plenty of space for all of these awesome New Mexico breweries. And it's very nice to be in an industry where we all support each other’s efforts.
What are your growth goals?
We're looking forward to opening locations throughout New Mexico, as well as expanding into packaging and distributing many of our most popular brews.
What contributions to the community (charitable or otherwise) are you most proud of?
Bosque is proud to feature a monthly Adoption Brew. With this program we've committed to donating $1 from every sale of that month's Adoption Brew to the ABBA Fund, an organization that extends 0% interest loans to families aspiring to adopt domestically and internationally.
