How did you get started in this business?
The business started when my sister and I wanted to create a unique business in our local area. We thought about many different ideas but we ended up going with a Pizzeria. We have a New Mexican Style pizza with our Diablo and we also do a fusion East Indian Pizza with Tandoori Chicken.
Why did you choose this business?
With so many pizza options out there we thought we could find our niche with our unique New York Style thin crust pizza and east indian fusion of Tandoori Pizza and Tandoori Style wings. We also do east coast style Stromboli.
What is your business philosophy?
We are family oriented with unique specialty pizzas. Our message is a great value without compromising our quality. We are not like your typical chain pizzeria.
What is your educational background?
Bonita Patel Elevario - Master in Business Administration from the UNM Anderson School of Management. Niraj Patel - Bachelors of Business Administration from the UNM Anderson School of Management
What is your or your company's greatest asset?
Our Pizza Sauce! Whether you have it Classic, Vegetarian, or Spicy it is guaranteed to satisfy even the harshest critics.
Why did you choose to do business in Albuquerque?
We are a local family that grew up in the New Mexico area and wanted to continue to grow the community we live in.
What motivates you to succeed besides the desire to make money?
Great customer service and providing a quality product to our customers. Regulars make us smile and are both a great motivator and testament to our restaurant.
What do you offer that the competition doesn't?
We offer a Tandoori Chicken Pizza and Tandoori Chicken Wings. Nobody in the city has an East Indian flavor option for their pizza.
How do you maintain your competitive edge?
We are constantly improving our menu. We recently changed our breadsticks to a new improved version after learning that our old ones just weren't up to par.
How would you define your position within the marketplace or within your market segment?
We are a unique pizzeria that fuses East Indian Food with pizza, wings, and salads. We offer a vegetarian option with Tandoori Paneer Pizza and offer a gluten free option for those who prefer it. We also serve some great sandwiches. Our customers have said that the meatball sub is amazing.
What are your growth goals?
We plan to increase our locations into the major areas of Albuquerque: Nob Hill, Uptown, Cottonwood, and the NE Heights. We hope to open two to four new locations in the next 18 to 24 months.
How has the Internet affected your business and how do you think it might affect your business in the future?
Facebook and Yelp have really driven our business when we had little to start with. Social media is key to spreading the word and getting reviews up and out there about our restaurant.
What do you look for in prospective employees?
We look for motivated individuals who want to grow with this new restaurant. We look for customer friendly people. Customer Service is the biggest part of this business!
What was your best business decision?
Working with Channel 4 KOB TV and getting on Antoinette Antonio's Best Bites Segment. It did great things for our exposure to the community. http://www.kob.com/article/stories/S2955481.shtml?cat=12396
In what area of your business do you invest the most energy?
Food quality and menu options. Offering a wide variety of items that are made with fresh ingredients is the secret to our success.
