Sergio's Bakery and Cafe
Type of business:
Bakery and Cafe
2740 Wyoming Blvd. NE
Albuquerque NM 87111
The original bakery started in Santa Fe back in the early 1940s. My dad Frank and my Grandpa Sergio bought it back in 1980. We operated in Santa Fe for 20 years, then decided to move to Albuquerque in 2000 because my sisters and I were down here going to college. With the passing of my grandparents in the mid '90s, my parents wanted to be closer to us kids. In 2000 we (the DeBari family) introduced our bakery to Albuquerque. We were at Lomas and Washington for 12 years. In November 2012 we moved to our current location, and the bakery was turned over to my sister Annabel and me. We changed the name to Sergio's Bakery and Cafe and have been putting our own little twist on the place. We continue to offer the same great products the bakery was known for, but we have introduced many more items to the menu. We invite you to come and check us out!
The Cannoli Connection
My grandpa introduced his cannoli to the bakery and its customers back in 1980. He had a family recipe he brought over from Italy, and it has been the heart of the bakery ever since. Many customers say it is the absolute best cannoli they have ever had—and some come from New York, Boston and Chicago. We make our own shells and fill them as ordered to give the freshest and most elegant pastry you could ever have. You gotta try one!
Here at Sergio's we take pride in the history of our bakery and its recipes. Our pumpkin and pecan pies are made from scratch with the finest ingredients available. My dad taught me the recipes a few years ago, and to this day he makes sure I don't mess anything up. We also have pies of almost any flavor available. Fruit pies, cream pies, meringues and fresh fruit tarts. We have tiramisu cake, tres leches cake, short cake, Italian almond cakes and mousses. Need some dinner rolls for the big meal? We have that, too. We have 10 varieties to choose from. Don't take my word for it. Come in and see for yourself!
