In a town where tattoo shops are a dime a dozen, how do you know where to get the best?
Here at Stay Gold we strive to exceed our customers’ expectations. Stay Gold Tattoo has been open for 11 years and over that time has built a reputation for being Albuquerque’s No. 1 shop for custom pieces, large and small. Hand-drawn, made-to-order tattoos assure that no one will be wearing the same piece as you. Our artists take tattooing as a serious art form. When you come into our shop you will also see oil and watercolor paintings done in-house by us.

How do you work with your clients?
When people come into our shop, we greet them all not only as potential clients but also as friends. We pride ourselves in taking the time to listen to your ideas and present you with designs that will blow you away. Our reputation as an “appointment only” shop is now being diminished due to a recent addition of talented artists who are able to take walk-ins five days a week. If we are unable to take walk-ins, we will gladly take a moment to book you an appointment on the earliest available date.
What sort of styles do your artists specialize in?
At Stay Gold, we understand that everybody has their own style. Again, we can accommodate. Each of our artists excels in a wide variety of styles ranging from unique twists on American traditional, to Japanese and oriental style tattoos, and even to new-school graffiti pieces. Whatever your vision, big or small, we will help create a tattoo that speaks to your own style and fits within your budget.
Can getting a quality tattoo also be affordable?
In times where money is hard to come by, why should you suffer through getting a bad tattoo simply because it’s cheap? We at Stay Gold understand that times are hard, and through our hourly rate, we give our clients the option to get as much as they can afford. If you can only afford an hour or two, then that is how long we will work. After all, there is a saying among tattooers: Pay for a good tattoo once, pay for a bad tattoo for the rest of your life! Coincidentally, we also do cover-ups!

Anything else you’d like to add?
Here at Stay Gold, we understand that you have a choice when it comes to where you get your tattoos and who does them. Tattoos are worn for life, and with such a permanent thing, why go to someone who doesn’t want to take the time to make sure you’re getting the best piece possible? The next time you want some work done, stop by Stay Gold Tattoo, Albuquerque’s best-kept secret!
