The lyrical focus of five-piece crust punk / hardcore outfit Communion of Thieves focus is on border issues, religion and governmental oppression of Spanish-speaking people in the El Paso area. Fellow borderland band Nuclear Scorn, a metal / crustpunk / D-beat foursome, dish out self-described “simple, raw-ass, dirty” grind. The Burqueño heavy metallurgy scene is represented by crust / sludge trio Roñoso.
