Reflect on nine of the IPCC’s murals and uncover new and unexpected layers of meaning in each.

The Indian Pueblo Cultural Center is home to an unbelievable 19 murals, all by Pueblo artists, and our newest guided tour provides a moving introduction to the art, traditions and core values of Pueblo culture through murals. It’s also a who’s who of Pueblo artists, with stops at murals by Pablita Velarde, Helen Hardin & Jose Rey Toledo.

The tour is one of discovery and unfolding. You will reflect upon nine of the IPCC’s murals and uncover new and unexpected layers of meaning in each. See nuanced representations of traditional Pueblo life, including dance, the seasons and our connection to animals, as well as the contemporary vision of emerging artists. You will come away with a deeper understanding and appreciation of these artists and what they accomplished in these murals, as well as a greater understanding of the resilience and evolving history of the Pueblo people.

The tour is included with the cost of museum admission.

The mural tour will offered every Friday at 1:00 p.m. The tour can also be scheduled in advance for groups by calling 505-212-7052.
