JOSE SALAZAR is a life-long resident of New Mexico and received his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of New Mexico, where he studied Classical Guitar with Hector Garcia. He also completed a Master Class at the Curso Internacional de Guitarra Y Veheula in Cervers, Spain where he studied with Maestro Emilio Pujol.

Mr. Salazar has participated in the annual Santa Fe Guitar Festival and has presented several recitals in Spain andMexico. He has performed ten recitals at the KIMO theater. He is a recipient of a solo performance grant in music from the National Endowment for the Arts. His recital for the Corrales Cultural Arts Council was performed to a standing-room-only audience in the Historical San Ysidro Church and his recitals for the Cibola Arts Council. He has performed over 20 times at the prestigious Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in NYC. In 2003, he was the Living Music Foundation Award Winner For Solo Composition. He has a record mastered at Columbia Records called "Virtuoso" and a CD "Jose Salazar Classical Guitarist and Composer". He also has a CD of Nuevo Flamenco and Jazz music "Jose Salazar's Thunder Band" He has also been composing music his entire life written mostly for solo, Classical and Flamenco Guitar music and a concerto for guitar and orchestra as well as Nuevo Flamenco, Latin Jazz, Jazz Fusion, Jazz and Blues.
