Cory Mecalf and David Stout give a media rich lecture detailing collaborative methods and the development of their modular software system built in MAX/MSP/Jitter.

NoiseFold

NoiseFold (Cory Metcalf & David Stout) will participate in a 3-4 day residency at UNM. Our activities will include the staging and premiere of a new live cinema and sound work titled, “The Ten Thousand Things". The resulting audio-visual behaviors share profound aesthetic similarities to dynamic pattern formations in the natural world.

Following the performance, which will serve as a dramatic introduction to our work, we will give a media rich lecture detailing collaborative methods and the development of our modular software system built in MAX/MSP/Jitter.

Co-sponsored by UNM College of Fine Arts, ARTS Lab, The Department of Cinematic Arts, and UNM Experimental Art and Technology (EAT).

Cory Mecalf and David Stout give a media rich lecture detailing collaborative methods and the development of their modular software system built in MAX/MSP/Jitter. This lecture will illustrate the multiple ways they employ this software including live cinema and music performance, animation, pre-visualization design for object making and glass sculpture, generative virtual reality environments and our current research in Ecological Data Dramatization.
