Students levels one and two are instructed in various techniques of outer and inner qigong, self massage techniques and the 12 Devas tendon changing system in their entirety.
Cultivate strength of body and calmness of mind through the healing Taoist practice of qigong.
Don't miss this rare opportunity to receive instruction in two unique lineages, the Pre-celestial Limitless Gate School (Xiantianwujimen) and the Yiquan School, neither of which have previously been fully transmitted to students in the West.
In Level One (Saturday), students will be instructed in various techniques of outer and inner qigong. There are no prerequisites for Level One. In Level Two (Sunday), students will learn the Nine Self-Massage Techniques and the Twelve Devas Tendon-Changing system in their entirety. The Daoist view for these teachings will be based on Eva Wong's book, Nourishing the Essence of Life.
Information about Qigong Teachers
Eva Wong is a 19th generation lineage carrier of the Primordial Limitless Gate School of Daoism. The student of Sun Di, she is also a 3rd generation lineage descendant in Wang Xiangshai's Yiquan school of martial arts and Zhangshuan - standing qigong. She is an independent scholar who has written and translated many books on Daoism and related topics, including Nourishing The Essence of Life: The Outer, Inner, and Secret Teachings of Taoism and A Master Course in Feng Shui (published by Shambhala Publications). On behalf of her lineage, she offers a comprehensive program involving nine levels of qigong training that she started teaching in Chicago in 2007.
David Stone has been training with Dr. Eva Wong in her Daoist Qigong lineage and is authorized to teach Levels 1 and 2 in the lineage's graduated program of qigong instruction. He has pursued and incorporated physical and energetic body/mind disciplines into his life, practicing and teaching for many years, including the Mudra Space Awareness practice, a system of body-mind synchronization based on Trungpa Rinpoche's Tibetan monastic dance training. He trained with master Five Element acupuncturist, J.R.Worsley, and has practiced acupuncture in that tradition since 1995, currently in Chicagoland.
He began studying Buddhist and Shambhala teachings with Chogyam Trungpa in 1974 and was appointed by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche as a shastri or resident senior teacher for Shambhala Chicago in 2010.
