No Borders: Social Struggles Across the USA

Freedom, Not Fear

You can log on to Sur Negro Comunicaciones' website (eng.surnegro.tv) right now to watch episodes, and better yet, you can support their continued endeavor by attending a screening of the series at The Guild Cinema this Sunday, Aug. 20, from their 11am to 12:30pm. The $8 at the door will go towards post-production of this timely and important work. (Maggie Grimason)

Black Rose / Rosa Negra - Albuquerque is hosting a screening for the new web series "No Borders: Social Struggles Across the U.S.A / Sin Fronteras: Lucha Social a Través de EEUU" - a project by the Sur Negro Collective.

In 2015, two Chilean anarchists traveled across 12 U.S. cities and filmed 11 episodes of this bilingual (English and Spanish) web series. Each episode features 30 minutes of engaging social and political interviews with organizations, individuals and musicians sharing their histories, practices and insights about the social struggles in their cities.

This event will screen one episode from NYC and one from Boston featuring Take Back the Bronx, Noam Chomsky, Eric Garner’s daughter and Occupy Wall Street, to name a few. “No Borders / Sin Fronteras” has completed filming but continues to fundraise for the post-production of the complete series which includes interviews with the Klee Benally, Diné Youth Walkers, Oscar Lopez committee, M1, AK Press, Indymedia, Ovarian Psychos/La Conchx, and many more.

Proceeds from ticket sales will go to Sur Negro Collective to support post-production of the complete documentary series. Tickets will be available at the door.  The screening will be followed by a discussion. Guest speaker/s TBA.
