Hidden Figures.

Movies on the Plaza is an open-air series of family friendly movies on Civic Plaza also starting on Friday, May 19 and continuing every week through the end of September. All the movies are free and open to all residents of the city. Movies on the Plaza features one of the largest outdoors screens in Albuquerque. Movies start at dusk right after sunset and the conclusion of the live music from ABQ Foods Fridays where moviegoers can have dinner prior to show time. Some seating is available but moviegoers can bring their own portable seats, blankets, and lawn chairs.

Reel World

The final Civic Plaza Fridays of the season hits downtown Albuquerque this Friday, Sept. 29. It starts at 6pm with a pop-up happy hour featuring food from Tucanos Brazilian Grill and a variety of microbrews from local brewers, including Rio Bravo, Santa Fe Brewing and La Cumbre. The Cali Shaw Band will play its own brand of New Mexico-based folk-Americana until 8pm. As the sun goes down over Civic Plaza, there will be be a free screening of the award-winning historical drama Hidden Figures, which tells the story of three brilliant African-American women whose computing power helped launch NASA’s space program. Feel free to bring your own chairs and/or blankets.
