DESCRIPTION:Learn the true history and origins of the evil little man who t
 hought he'd play a trick on the miller&rsquo\;s pretty&nbsp\;daughter.The 
 ancient tales don't tell us where he came from--who he was before he becam
 e so angry--nor do they tell us what happened to him after he stomped his 
 way into the dungeon.&nbsp\;The Desert Rose Playhouse&nbsp\;retells the st
 ory for the holidays\, bringing many well-loved as well as lesser known fa
 iry tale characters to the story of Rumplestiltskin.The new story\, writte
 n and directed by local playwright Sarah Sayles\, follows &ldquo\;Rum&rdqu
 o\; from his youth to find out what makes him tick. From an ever-hungry wo
 lf to a happy-go-lucky princess with a curse on her head\, the cast weaves
  a tale that lasts for more than 20 years and sets the stage for Rumplesti
 ltskin to come to be. And everyone has an opportunity for redemption\, for
 giveness\, and even love. More than a wonderful seasonal story\, this show
  encourages children to read and learn about music of the medieval period.
  Schools can request a reading list\; a CD of the music (created through a
  Creative Commons license) can be made available. Links to several of the 
 related fairy tales can be found on the theatre&rsquo\;s web site at deser
 troseplayhouse.com. Rumplestiltskin opens December 7 and runs through Dece
 mber 23. Showtimes are Fridays and Saturdays at 7 pm and Sundays at 2 pm. 
 Tickets are $12 for general admission\, $10 for students and seniors\, and
  $8 for children under 12. The Desert Rose\, at 6921 Montgomery Blvd\, NE\
 , is wheelchair accessible and accepts all major credit cards. Group disco
