DESCRIPTION:For 41 years the South Broadway Cultural Center and Library hav
 e been a part of the celebration of the &ldquo\;Fiesta of Our Lady of Guad
 alupe\,&rdquo\; an 88-year-old community event that began in the &ldquo\;W
 illiams&rdquo\; area of South Broadway. Beginning on December 8th\, the tr
 adition continues with an altar and traditional religious art on display i
 n the gallery and library. The celebration is organized by Los Guadalupano
 s and St. Francis Xavier Church\, and encompasses community altars and a p
 rocession led by the Bishop. Each year Los Guadalupanos selects a family f
 rom the community to create and erect an altar in the gallery\, and the cu
 rator selects various artists who make traditional retablos and contempora
 ry works which are shown in both the gallery and library.
