Lecture by Dr. Nancy Parezo, University of Arizona on the tenacity of Euroamerican stereotypes about Native Americans.
This presentation will discuss how anthropologists have both fought and reified these steriotypes. The lecture is focused on one attempt by an anthropological museologist, Frederik Douglas of the Denver Art Museum, to fight ehnic stereotypes in the1940s and 1950s through an innovative program called "The Indian Fashion Show."
