Lost, found and reinvented objects of art.
Albuquerque Do you develop information fatigue when you read the word “sustainable” or “green”, knowing that a sermon follows on everything we are doing wrong? Not at the Fifth Annual Recycled Art Fair! You will be given a breath of fresh air and hope in the presence of UPCYCLING. It is Spring! Come and see what is blossoming at the Open Space Visitor Center April 27th and 28th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Not only will you and your friends be given this regeneration in your outlook, but the discarded items discovered by these artists have been given new life in the form of art. For the past four years, upcycle artists have been giving us hope and promise amidst the seemingly endless volumes of trash, and with it, helping us to escape the onerous “shoulds” regarding our daily way of life. How does upcycling differ from Recycling? What can we learn from these skilled and creative individuals to make our daily life less wasteful and more enjoyable? Do we drown in trash or become REVIVED through the regenerative power of UPCYCLE art?!! Saturday: Activities include a talk about art and society in upcycling, music with Juniper Hill and the Celtic Trio, kids’ activities, and arts & crafts workshopsSunday: Activities include a talk by the City of Albuquerque Solid Waste Department, music with Facinet Bangoura, and making paper and plantable stationary.OVER 40 VENDORS OF UPCYCLE ART, CRAFT, ETC. “REVIVED!” IN THE OPEN SPACE MAIN ART GALLERY
