A screening of Alfred Hitchcock's 1972 British thriller.
In the plot, London is terrorized by a vicious sex killer known as the necktie murderer. Following the brutal slaying of his ex-wife, down-on-his-luck Richard Blaney is suspected by the police of being the killer. He goes on the run, determined to prove his innocence.
After a pair of unsuccessful films depicting political intrigue and espionage, Hitchcock returned to the murder genre where he had achieved great success. The narrative is a familiar Hitchcock theme of an innocent man overwhelmed by circumstantial evidence and wrongly accused who overcomes incredible obstacles to prove his innocence.
After many years of filming in the U.S., Hitchcock returned to his native London as the setting for Frenzy. Opening with a sweeping shot along the Thames to Tower Bridge, the film played homage to the London of Hitchcock's childhood.
Tickets for the screening are $5 - $7 and are available at www.KiMoTickets.com and at the KiMo Box Office, 505-768-3544. Hours: Wednesday - Saturday 11 am - 8 pm; Sunday 11 am - 3 pm.
