John Davis presents on the need to protect wildlife habitat corridors. Event and reception will feature snacks, live music and invited guest speakers from local conservation organizations.

(including Dave Foreman of the Rewilding Institute) The main event of the evening will be a presentation by Conservation Trekker John Davis, complemented with beautiful photos and personal stories describing the need for connectivity between the West’s last remaining wild places, and highlighting the details of how northern Arizona’s wildlands are a critical part of a continental pathway for wildlife – the “Western Wildway.” The mission of this unprecedented 5,000-mile human-powered outdoor adventure campaign by trekker John Davis is to call attention to the need to protect wildlife habitat corridors throughout a “Western Wildway” ― including the Gila region of SW New Mexico, Santa Fe and Albuquerque ― stretching from Sonora’s subtropical Sierra Madre Occidental to British Columbia’s “High Divide.” A petition campaign to create a mechanisim to identify and protect wildlife habitat corridors, directed at elected officials and decision-makers, is also underway.
