Is It The Body?
Portlander doom metal duo The Body has experimented within and screamed down the boundaries of metal for 14 years now. Known for 2010 magnum/choral opus All the Waters of the Earth Turn to Blood, percussionist/sampler Lee Buford and guitarist/vocalist Chip King continue to innovate within the genre. Touring in support of new EP “Master, We Perish,” The Body brings their terrific brand of doom—now flirting with noise—to Sister (407 Central NW) on Monday, June 24. Metallurgists Hanta, Roñoso and Gusher rep the local heavy. This 21-and-over cacophonous gig screeches to life at 9 p.m., and five bucks gets you in. Don't forget to pack your earplugs; protecting your hearing is totally hardcore. (Samantha Anne Carrillo)
