Seventy-five years ago, Felix “Bush” Brezeale made history as the first person to hold his funeral while he was still alive. Between eight to 12 thousand people attended the event on June 26, 1938. The true story, with some fictional dramatic twists, was told in the 2010 comedy/drama Get Low, starring Robert Duvall, Bill Murray and Sissy Spacek. Get Low inaugurates the first Movie Night hosted by FRENCH Funerals-Cremations with Gail Rubin of A Good Goodbye: Funeral Planning for Those Who Don’t Plan to Die introducing the film and facilitating a discussion afterward.
