A Foodie for the Fair
Look, it's State Fair time. And if you're like me, you've only got one food-related mission on your mind this week: eating a bunch of weird Fair food. Fried Oreos, fried candy bars, fried donut burgers, fried beer— whatever you want, the friendly carnies at the Fair will happily dunk it into a bucket of boiling fat and batter and make it 10 times more delicious and 20 times more likely to provoke a major heart attack, all in the name of consumerist gluttony. It's a magical time of year, and you can hardly call yourself a New Mexican if you don't risk acid reflux celebrating our state. Admission to the State Fair is $10 for adults and $7 for children and seniors. Fair runs through Sunday, Sept. 22.

Fried black cherry Kool-Aid pickle chips with ranch? Deep fried green chile cheese curds? If these don't sound good to you, then the 2013 New Mexico State Fair might not be for you. Fair-goers can try these and much more weird and unlikely food combinations. Check exponm.com for more foods and locations.
