Paper Faces on Parade
If you like parties, champagne and savory tid-bits served on trays, but don't, for some reason, want people seeing your face (perhaps you are the very incarnation of a horrible disease?), the Masked Evening Ball at St. James Tearoom (320 Osuna NE, Building D) has got to be your number one event of the year. Come in formal attire with your favorite mask, and remember, you never know who could be hiding beneath the next false face. Could it be, perhaps, the King of England? (Spoiler: No. It couldn't. Don't be insane.) The festivities kick off at 6:30pm, and the masked extravaganza will run you $75. (Ty Bannerman)

Masquerade Ball 2013 All the elegance and glamour, all the brilliance of color and the mysterious flash of eyes from behind every mask in the room, daring you to name their faces. In the time of the Renaissance, royalty, nobles, and common folk mingled together under the cloak of disguise at masquerade balls. With whom are you really dancing? Could it be the king? Is that beautiful woman in black actually the farmer's daughter? Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet met and fell in love at a masquerade, and his Beatrice and Benedick flirted caustically behind paper faces, as well. Join us for the intrigue and romance of a masked evening at The St. James Tearoom! Tray service willprovide delicious savories, sweets and a glass of Gruet Champagne or Sparkling Martinelli's non-alcoholic alternative. An elegant way to celebrate the season. Dress for this event is Formal or Semi-formal. And, of course, a mask is required. $75 per person (This is a 21 and over event.) Note: Though seating will be available throughout the tearoom, this is not a seated event. Food service will be in courses throughout the evening beginning at 6:30. Doors will open at 6:00 and close promptly at 9:30.
