Membership is open to high-school students based on the recommendation of their band directors, and to community adults by audition. Participants come from Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Pecos, Rowe, and Albuquerque. The musical selections for the October 20 performance are March, Op. 99 by Sergei Prokofiev, October by Eric Whitacre, Sun Paints Rainbows Over the Vast Waves by David Bedford, Strange Humors by John Mackey, and Enigma Variations by Edward Elgar.   Mark Frossard has been creating artwork for Concordia Santa Fe since its inception in 2007 to aid in the thematic cohesion and promotion of their eight annual professional performances. Mark was born in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1981. In 2004, he earned his BFA in Painting from the University of Kansas. During his time in the Midwest, Mark began his studies of the figure and the process of narrative storytelling in his work. After graduation, Mark moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, incorporating the beauty of the southwestern landscape into his paintings. His new work became inspired by the cultural diversity, alien landscape and vibrant colors.   Lindsay Parks is a native Floridian living in Santa Fe, New Mexico. An alum of Savannah College of Art and Design, with a bachelor’s in Photography and minor in Graphic Design, her principle work focuses on weddings, events, and portraiture. Her love of travel and documentary photography has inspired a vast portfolio of snapshots and candids.   Joshua Neel’s paintings address the tradition of plein air easel painting in New Mexico marrying this practice of observation with other stylistic impulses. Neel examines themes of isolation and uncertainty, deploying monolithic “modern” forms, fiery fits of Automatic Surrealism, or ABEX eccentricity onto fields of passive post-impressionist landscapes. A reconciliation of earnestness and doubt unfolds in these atmospheric collisions of contrary positions.
