LA LOCA MAGAZINE PRESENTS: BAGS FOR THE HOMELESS & TOY DRIVE Albuquerque’s newest publication, La Loca Magazine, is teaming up with Joy Junction this holiday season, now-Dec. 18, to present “La Loca’s Bags for the Homeless” campaign. All year long La Loca is dedicated to giving back to the community where we live and where many of us were born and raised. During the holiday season we feel it is especially important to remember the importance of not only being a good neighbor but also sharing the blessings we have received as a successful local business. In an effort to help end hunger and discomfort in Albuquerque this holiday season we are receiving donations to our office at 1216 4th St. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87102. Last year Joy Junction gave away 6,000 blankets during the winter and is now low on supply and seeking to restock before it starts getting much colder out. Anyone who donates in person now through Dec. 18 will receive a free copy of La Loca Magazine to show our appreciation for those that are willing to help us realize our goal of ending hunger and discomfort for Albuquerque’s less fortunate this winter. We also invite Albuquerque residents to join us for our annual “Ugly Christmas Sweater and Calendar Release Party” at Low Spirits Bar and Stage Dec. 13. Besides giving residents a fun excuse to show off that ugly sweater aunt Agnes gave them last year, La Loca Magazine will also be conducting a toy drive. In addition, a proceed of every 2014 La Loca Magazine Calendar sold will be donated to the City of Albuquerque Spay and Neuter Program, in an effort to end the epidemic of homeless and unwanted pets in the metro area. Joining La Loca Magazine for the “Ugly Christmas Sweater Party” will be Creamland Dairy, who will be donating eggnog in celebration of National Eggnog Month. In addition, there will be live music by local bands TBA, a legendary La Loca Magazine raffle and appearances from the La Loca Lindas promotional model group. At La Loca Magazine we strive to be a voice for the people, and as such we believe that as New Mexicans our goal is the same: Building a stronger, healthier community for the generations to come!
