A pop-up exhibition by Kim Stringfellow.

First of a string of exhibits, this one ends March 13. Show Up Show Down presents Kim Stringfellow in the first of a series of four consecutive pop-up exhibitions in downtown Albuquerque, as part of tART: temporary art in downtown public places. Show Up Show Down featurs exceptional artists who use the built environment –- everything from houses to freeways to nature preserves, along with the man-made systems that created them -– to impact contemporary life in a variety of beneficial ways. Stringfellow comes to Albuquerque to present her project "There It Is—Take It!", a self-guided car audio tour through Owens Valley, California, along U.S. Route 395 that examines the controversial social, political, and environmental history of the Los Angeles Aqueduct system. Stringfellow will give a brief talk about her project from 6:00 - 6:15pm. http://thereitistakeit.org/

Show Up Show Down is a monthlong series of talks and exhibits cropping up Downtown throughout March and into April. Curated by Nancy Zastudil, the show’s four projects hail from across the US to shed light on the interaction of humans with manmade environments like houses, freeways, nature preserves, community spaces and gardens. All the month’s events unfold within the confines of a pop-up gallery at 105 Gold SW, open Monday through Friday, 6 to 8pm, and on weekends by appointment. See showupshowdown.org for complete info.
