A play based on oral histories of the viejitos of the Río Puerco Valley.
Collected/edited by celebrated folk historian, Nasario García, adapted/directed by Shebana Coelho. Ranching families live out stories of land, loss, and community, spanning the 1910s through the 1950s in four now ghost towns near Cuba, NM. “Share Your Recuerdos" Open Mic before Sunday 4/6 and 4/13 performances: bring a treasure from yesterday/many yesterdays ago and share an anecdote (3-4min)
Dates: April 4, 5, 6 and April 11, 12, 13; Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 4:00 pm Tickets: $15 for general admission; $12 for seniors and students. Sundays are pay-what-you wish.
