Oh, elementary school. The days of naps, snacks and weaving stars out of yarn and popsicle sticks. At what point in life did it stop being cool to craft? And then when did it switch back? Oh, I remember…the day I got a Pinterest account. I contest that never in the history of mankind has crafting been so cool, and the Albuquerque area has so got the hook-up for hip DIY project groups. Pick a library, just about any library, and you'll find programs such as the North Valley Knitters, An Itch to Stitch @ Cherry Hills, the Hillerman Stitch Club and Loma Colorado's new Grown Up Crafternoons. All of these groups are free and open to any skill level. Just drop what you're doing, drop in and have a crafty time. (Emily Aragon)
