Submitting an event to the Alibi calendar is FREE and EASY. You can include a photo or flyer. Submit early! Submit often! We reach hundreds of thousands of locals in print and online. Fill out the requested information completely. Please. We swear we're asking for a good reason.
Alibi's paper edition comes out on Thursdays. Get your event to us a full SEVEN CALENDAR DAYS before the issue comes out.
The next print issue open for calendar submissions covers the dates Thursday, Dec 15 through Wednesday, Dec 21 and you must have your submission in by 1pm on Thursday, Dec 8.
NOTE: Due to the high volume of events we receive, there is not enough room in the print edition to accommodate all of them. The PRINT DEADLINE is so your event can be "considered" for print. However, there's no guarantee that it will appear in the print edition of the paper. But don't be discouraged if your event doesn't make it into print, as our online calendars receive thousands of views any given week. So rest assured, your event is still being seen.
The Calendar staff will be out Dec. 26-Jan. 1, so to ensure your events during Jan. 5-11 make it to print, please submit as soon as possible. Your harried Calendars Editor thanks you for your understanding and patience.
We update our site constantly. If you missed the print deadline, go ahead and submit your event and, if possible, we'll give it an online listing. Note that 72 hours' notice makes it a lot more likely we can post your submission in time. No calendar updates happen on Saturday or Sunday.

When updating our calendars, we do give priority to whatever's happening in the week to come--so if you submitted an event ahead of time, be patient! We'll approve it and post online as soon as possible.
On the event submission form, "notices" refer to announcements of an ongoing nature. Notices DO include open auditions and calls for submissions to an art show. Notices DON'T include sales announcements or other commerce. (But see below, because there are plenty of ways to get the word out.)
Want your event written about in the Alibi? Contact the appropriate section editor with press releases and photos well in advance of your event--3 to 4 weeks or more is preferred. If an editor is interested in doing a story, they'll let you know. We cover a lot, but (sorry!) we can't cover everything.
Got a show flyer? Add it to our rotating display, Flyer on the Web.
