Best Downtown Bar

The Distillery. The upstairs pool hall is nice. It's a good place to run into old friends.

Best Mural

The one by the Sunshine Theatre painted by the mayor's art program because I was part of it. It's a figure, he's kind of emerging. It's a little abstract. I wish I knew the name of the artist, but I don't.

Best Place to Buy New Music

L.A. Underground. I like hip-hop music, and it's current and hip, I guess.

Best Thrift Store

Savers. I haven't shopped there in a while, but you can get nice collared shirts there for $3 to $5.

Best Breakfast

The Frontier. I get the breakfast burrito with bacon.

Best Toy Store

Toys R Us. Because it's so large. I like the giraffe.

Best Writer

Tony Hillerman. My mom has lots of his books, and I trust her judgment, because she's an avid reader.

Best Live Theatre/Performance Space

Popejoy Hall. I saw Rent there, which I really liked. Stomp was good, too.
