Thursday 21

“Grey’s Anatomy: Complications of the Heart” (KOAT-7 7 p.m.) Catch up with the previous season of romantic entanglements on “Grey’s Anatomy” with this hour-long review show. Followed by the season premiere.

“My Name is Earl” (KOB-4 7 p.m.) It’s opposite “Grey’s Anatomy,” which means it’s gonna get stomped this season, but it’s still the best sitcom on TV. Give it some love, people. Karma will pay you back.

“Shark” (KRQE-13 9 p.m.) Granted, it’s another lawyer drama, but this one stars the ever-entertaining James Woods. He plays a ruthless, high-profile defense attorney who joins the Los Angeles D.A.’s office following a personal epiphany.

“Six Degrees” (KOAT-7 9 p.m.) “Lost” honcho J.J. Abrams produces this drama, which plays a narrative version of Six Degrees. In other words, it’s an excuse to write a bunch of tiny little character dramas and string them together by the thinnest strings of circumstance. Sadly, Kevin Bacon does not star.

Friday 22

“The World’s Scariest Explosions Caught on Tape” (Spike 8 p.m.) I’ll say this for the executives at Spike TV: They don’t overintellectualize their programming.

Saturday 23

Kraken: Tentacles of the Deep (Sci-Fi 7 p.m.) Hasn’t Sci-Fi Channel run out of animal species to make giant yet? At least fans got to name this film in an online poll. “Kraken” is OK. Personally, I preferred either “Stop or My Squid Will Shoot” or “Killamari!”

Sunday 24

“Brothers & Sisters” (KOAT-7 9 p.m.) Calista Flockhart, Rachel Griffiths, Sally Field, Ron Rifkin, Patricia Wettig and Balthazar Getty star in this ensemble drama about … well, you can pretty much figure it out from the title.

Monday 25

“Heroes” (KOB-4 8 p.m.) This speculative drama introduces us to a seemingly unconnected group of people from around the world, all of whom wake up one day to find that they have been bestowed with extraordinary powers. Though clearly inspired by comic books, the show takes a real world approach to its subject. (In other words: no tights.)

“Runaway” (KWBQ-19? 8 p.m.) Look, it’s the first “new” show on The CW (as opposed to old WB and UPN transplants). In it, Donnie Wahlberg plays the head of a family that is on the run from the feds after dad is accused of a murder he didn’t commit. It’s The Fugitive times five! (But not really.)

Tuesday 26

“Help Me Help You” (KOAT-7 8:30 p.m.) Ted Danson and Jane Kaczmarek star in this sitcom about a neurotic psychiatrist who runs a weekly group therapy session. Neurotic psychiatrist, eh? Never seen that one before.
