Thursday 6

“50 Cent: The Money and the Power” (MTV 11 p.m.) Rapper 50 Cent starts up his own version of Donald Trump’s “The Apprentice” in which the last contestant “possessing the strongest combination of business flair, strength, ambition and fearlessness” will win $100,000. Doesn’t hurt if you can take a few bullet hits, either.

Friday 7

“CMT Crossroads: Def Leppard and Taylor Swift” (CMT 10 p.m.) Def Leppard goes country! Take that, 1983!

“Whale Wars” (Animal Planet 7 p.m.) Crazy environmentalists throw themselves in front of titanic Japanese whaling ships. Hayden Panettiere approves, at least.

“Shadow Force” (History 8 p.m.) Fans of covert ops ( Soldier of Fortune subscribers and Halliburton execs, I’m looking at you) will love this new series about the world of private military operations.

Saturday 8

Yeti (Sci-Fi 7 p.m.) Alibi Publisher/General Manager Carl Petersen heartily endorses any film featuring Yeti, Bigfoot, Sasquatch or the Skunk Ape.

Sunday 9

“Summer Heights High” (HBO 8:30 p.m.) This Australian-imported high school mockumentary series is the brainchild of comedian Chris Lilley, who portrays all three main characters. In Australia, apparently, the kids are foulmouthed and into sex and drugs. Here in America, all our high schoolers are in their late 20s and will sing and dance at the drop of a hat.

“Crash: The Next Great Depression” (History 9 p.m.) No, it’s not about Starz TV’s depressing weekly adaptation of the Oscar-winning drama Crash . Instead, it’s about how we should all be freaking out big-time about our economic situation.

Monday 10

“Inside the Actor’s Studio” (Bravo 6 p.m.) It’s the historic 200 th episode and Dave Chappelle stops by. For a second visit. I guess one episode just wasn’t enough to cover his acting technique in Half Baked .

Tuesday 11

“Blush: The Search for the Next Great Make-Up Artist” (Lifetime 8 p.m.) Why do I get the feeling we’ve seen this before?

“Extreme Trains” (History 8 p.m.) “Extreme” isn’t an adjective you can just stick in front of any old noun to make it sound cool. Case in point: “Extreme Trains.” But I guess “Trains Your Grandfather Would Find Interesting” doesn’t look as enticing in TV Guide.

“Cha$e” (Sci-Fi 8 p.m.) It’s a TV game show based on parkour. (You know, that urban “sport” in which people run and jump over crap.) It’s also further proof that Sci-Fi Channel is about to ditch its format.

Wednesday 12

“The 42 nd Annual CMA Awards” (KOAT-7 7 p.m.) Carrie Underwood hosts. Kellie Pickler performs. Maybe “American Idol” is good for something after all.

“Estate of Panic” (Sci-Fi 8 p.m.) You see, science fiction shows are expensive to produce. So I guess it’s no surprise that Sci-Fi Channel wants more shows with neither science nor fiction. Hence, we have another cheapo game show. It’s like “Survivor,” except all the challenges take place in a big mansion. That ought to save on mosquito repellent bills.
