Week in Sloth

The Week in Sloth

Thursday 24

“Rookie Blue” (KOAT-7 8 p.m.) Getting another cop show on TV is kinda like getting a third electric toothbrush for Christmas. ... Thanks, but I’m pretty well covered.

“Boston Med” (KOAT-7 9 p.m.) Getting another doctor show on TV is kinda like getting a third electric toothbrush for Christmas. ... Thanks, but I’m pretty well covered.

“How to Build the Perfect Grown Up” (TBS 8 p.m.) Adam Sandler, David Spade, Chris Rock, Kevin James and Rob Schneider trace their lives and the evolution of their comic styles. ... Oh, and pimp the hell out of their new movie Grown Ups.

Friday 25

“Limo Bob” (truTV 9 p.m.) And the Roulette Wheel of Boring Blue-Collar Jobs That Don’t Have A Reality Show lands on ... limo driver.

Saturday 26

Dinocroc vs. Supergator (Syfy 7 p.m.) Sometimes the bad stars just align and you get something like Dinocroc vs. Supergator. Individually, these monsters constitute just another couple of crummy Syfy Channel Original movies. Put them together, though, and you’ve got an awesomely ridiculous pop-cultural reference for at least a month or two. ... My money’s on Dinocroc, by the way.

Sunday 27

“The BET Awards ’10” (BET 7 p.m.) Queen Latifah hosts. Eminem performs. Even though he’s not, you know, B.

“The 37th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” (KRQE-13 8 p.m.) Host Regis Philbin helps celebrate the best in talk showery as well as the soap operatic arts.

“Ellen’s Somewhat Special Special” (TBS 7 p.m.) Ellen DeGeneres hosts a variety show with singers, dancers and “specialty” acts. See, it doesn’t have to be good, so long as it’s “cute ironic”—like selling Rainbow Brite T-shirts at Hot Topic.

“Team Coco Presents Conan’s Writers Live” (TBS 8 p.m.) Contractually speaking, Conan can’t defect to TBS until sometime this fall. Until then, you can watch his writing staff do stand up.

Monday 28

“Huge” (ABC Family 7 p.m.) Nikki Blonsky (Hairspray) stars in this new dramedy about teenagers at a fat camp. David Hasselhoff’s daughter Hayley is in it, too. Her bio says she was a plus-size teen model. I guess I would have known that if I had watched the U.K. reality show “Meet the Hasselhoffs.” Which I did not. Nor, I suspect, did any British people.

Tuesday 29

“10 Ways To Kill Bin Laden” (History 7 p.m.) Pile of birdseed + “Free Lunch” sign + ACME anvil. There, now you’ve got 11.

“Louie” (FX midnight) Angry comedian Louis C.K. stars in a new sitcom called “Louie.” Not “Louis.” Why for?

Wednesday 30

“In Plain Sight” (USA 8 p.m.) The shot-in-Albuquerque drama launches its third season.

“The Real World” (MTV 11 p.m.) MTV’s venerable reality series enters its 24th season by heading down to the Big Easy. Hmmm. A “Real World” cast in a town where it’s legal to drink on the streets. What could possibly happen here?
