The Week in Sloth
“The Truth Behind” (National Geographic 8 p.m.) Hey, longtime TV viewer. Remember those 80,000 other cryptozoology shows that failed to definitively prove or disprove the existence of the Loch Ness Monster? ... I have a feeling this new one is totally gonna nail it.
“Bad Sex” (LOGO 10 p.m.) What goes on behind the closed doors of a sex therapy group? Less interesting things than you’re capable of imagining is my guess. But that isn’t stopping LOGO from making a docu-reality show about it.
“True Life: I’m Occupying Wall Street” (MTV 7 p.m.) MTV’s documentary series gets all current with a look at the Occupy Wall Street movement.
Love’s Christmas Journey (Hallmark 6 p.m.) The latest in the unending evangelical Western book/movie series (Love Comes Softly, Love’s Enduring Promise, Love’s Long Journey, Love’s Abiding Joy, Love’s Unending Legacy, Love’s Unfolding Dream, Love Takes Wing, Love Finds a Home, Love Begins) takes place during Christmas. “Would You Rather? With Graham Norton” (BBC America 9 p.m.) British chat show host Graham Norton turns the old party game into a panel discussion show featuring celebrities and comedians who are forced to choose the lesser of two evils.
Mistletoe Over Manhattan (Hallmark 6 p.m.) In this made-for-TV weeper, the wife of Santa Claus helps a divorcing couple rediscover their love for each other. ... I don’t know about you, but I’m sad Halloween is over.
John Sandford’s Certain Prey (USA 7 p.m.) Sandford’s 21-book-deep series about eccentric-
“Hell on Wheels” (AMC 8 p.m.) AMC goes from zombies to cowboys with this railroad-centric Western series.
“The Heart, She Holler” (Cartoon Network 1:30 a.m.) Comedians Patton Oswalt and Kristen Schaal star in this bat-shit-crazy, live-action miniseries from the creators of “Wonder Showzen.” Oswalt describes it as “if Abel Ferrara made ‘Hee Haw.’ ” Yikes.
“The Witch Doctor Will See You Now” (National Geographic 8 p.m.) Explorer Piers Gibbon travels to the ends of the Earth to dig up traditional remedies like snake blood or goat blood or virgin blood. ... Huh, a lot of these seem to involve blood.
“Vietnam in HD” (History 7 p.m.) Wow, it’s so realistic, it’s like I’m having a PTSD-induced flashback!
“The 45th Annual CMA Awards” (KOAT-7 7 p.m.) Blake Shelton, Rascal Flatts, Lionel Richie, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood and ... wait a minute. Who invited Lionel Richie?
“Prophets of Science Fiction” (Science 7 p.m.) Ridley Scott (director of Alien, don’t ya know) hosts this new series concentrating on science-fiction visionaries who predicted future innovations. First up: Mary Shelley of Frankenstein fame.
