The Week in Sloth
Exporting Raymond (HBO 6 p.m.) In this new documentary, television producer Phil Rosenthal meets with resistance when he tries to adapt his hit American sitcom “Everybody Loves Raymond” for a Russian audience. Does it star Yakov Smirnoff? That could be your problem.
“Inside Comedy” (Showtime 9 p.m.) Billy Crystal stops by to chat it up with David Brenner before his big Oscar return.
Radio Rebel (Disney 6 p.m.) A shy teen develops a rebellious radio personality. Think Pump Up the Volume. But since it’s on Disney, there’s less topless Samantha Mathis.
“43rd Annual NAACP Image Awards” (KOB-4 7 p.m.) The Help got a lot of nominations, of course. Then again, so did Tower Heist. Kinda hard to figure out what that means.
“Curious and Unusual Deaths” (Discovery Health 8 p.m.) Honestly, that doesn’t sound too healthy to me.
The Ride (Showtime 6 p.m.) In 2009, “Amazing Race” host Phil Keoghan biked all the way across America, averaging 100 miles a day on sheer pedal power. I’m sure there was a point to it. Global warming awareness. Cancer research. Something noble like that. This documentary feature will probably explain.
“The Amazing Race” (KRQE-13 7 p.m.) Honestly, after 20 seasons on the air, I’m not so sure it still qualifies as “amazing.” Maybe if they made the contestants bike all the way across America.
“The Simpsons” (KASA-2 7 p.m.) Controversial WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange guests on tonight’s 500th episode. Weirdest. Cameo. Ever.
“ ‘I Ain’t Scared of You’: A Tribute to Bernie Mac” (Comedy Central 11 p.m.) Bill Bellamy, Angela Bassett, Cedric the Entertainer, Don Cheadle, Mike Epps, Samuel L. Jackson and D.L. Hughley are among the entertainers who came out for this all-star tribute to the late, great comedian.
“Eastbound & Down” (HBO 8 p.m.) After a nice long break, Danny McBride returns to his role as bad role model baseball player Kenny Powers in the third and final season of this scabrous sitcom.
“Life’s Too Short” (HBO 8:30 p.m.) Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant (“The Office,” “Extras”) produce this fictionalized sitcom about the show biz life of actor Warwick Davis (famous for playing head Ewok Wicket in the Star Wars films). Expect plenty of un-P.C. laughs.
“The 2nd Annual Hall of Game Awards” (Cartoon Network 8 p.m.) Cartoon Network goes completely unanimated for this sophomore awards show, handing out statues to professional athletes. Thank God somebody’s giving these athletes something—other than the multimillions they earn in contracts and endorsements.
“It Gets Better” (Logo/MTV Midnight) The inspirational advertising campaign for bullied LGBTQ teens goes big with a one-hour, cross-network special. Columnist, author and the campaign’s creator Dan Savage hosts.
“American Weed” (National Geographic 8 p.m.) Medicinal marijuana farmers in Colorado get their own docu-reality show. Perfect for those who are still jonesing for more after watching “Weed Wars” over on Discovery Channel.
