Week in Sloth

The Week in Sloth

Play Youtube Video

Thursday 9

“Martian Mega Rover” (National Geographic 8 p.m.) NASA’s newest toy is so awesome it’s “Mega.”

“Totally Biased With W. Kamau Bell” (FX 12 p.m.) Comedian W. Kamau Bell blurs the line between late-night comedy and cultural commentary.

Friday 10

“You Live in What?” (HGTV 7 p.m.) Grain bin, radio station, slaughterhouse. Does that answer your question?

Saturday 11

“Jeff Ross Roasts America” (Comedy Central 12 a.m.) Jeff Ross has ripped many a celebrity a new one as roastmaster of Comedy Central. Now, he expands his target to include all of America.

Sunday 12

“Air Jaws Apocalypse” (Discovery 7 p.m.) Oh boy. That sounds like the opening volley in yet another awesome Shark Week.

“Hell on Wheels” (AMC 7 p.m.) AMC’s bloody Western series returns for a second season of rail-riding goodness.

“All You Can Meat” (Travel 8 p.m.) Travel Channel appears to involve a lot more eating these days. I’m just saying.

“Animal Practice” (KOB-4 9:30 p.m.) NBC uses the sweet, post-Olympics spot to sneak-preview its new veterinary-based sitcom.

“The Comedy Central Roast of Roseanne” (Comedy Central 11 p.m.) The comebacks are gonna be brutal here.

Monday 13

“Hotel Hell” (KASA-2 7 p.m.) Gordon Ramsay, tired of yelling at restaurant owners, tries yelling at hotel owners for a change.

“Stars Earn Stripes” (KOB-4 7 p.m.) Stars like Todd Palin, Nick Lachey and Dean Cain are sent to boot camp. Unfortunately, they aren’t forced to enlist and stay there. What’s the point?

“United Bates of America” (TLC 7 p.m.) Relax, America, TLC has located another insanely fertile family.

“Big Tiny: Life With the Jordans” (TLC 8 p.m.) ... Also, TLC has located some more little people.

“MythBusters: Jawsome Shark Special” (Discovery 8 p.m.) Jamie and Adam get into the spirit of Shark Week by testing out a few shark-based myths.

“Major Crimes” (TNT 8 p.m.) Kyra Sedgwick leaves “The Closer” after seven seasons, but most of the rest of the cast sticks around for this “new” cop series headed by Mary McDonnell (“Battlestar Galactica”).

“Counting Cars” (History 8:30 p.m.) The dude who restores Coke machines for the guys on “Pawn Stars” got his own spin-off. So, naturally, the dude who restores cars for them gets his own spin-off too.

“Grimm” (KOB-4 9 p.m.) NBC’s fairy tale cops series starts the season off early.

Tuesday 14

“Collection Intervention” (Syfy 8 p.m.) Think “Hoarders: Buried Alive,” but with Star Wars toys.

“The Week the Women Went” (Lifetime 8 p.m.) Lifetime remakes the British reality show in which a small town tries to make do without females for a whole week. Bottom line: fewer showers, more video games.

“Bullying: Celebs Speak Out” (E! 9 p.m.) Finally! I’ve been curious as to where celebrities like Mike Tyson and Khloe Kardashian come down on the issue of bullying: pro or con?

Wednesday 15

“Oh Sit!” (KWBQ-19 7 p.m.) Brace yourself, America. Here it is: TV’s newest competition show, a “high-octane game of musical chairs for a cash prize.” ... No, seriously. ... No, seriously.

“Adam Richman’s Best Sandwich in America” (Travel 7 p.m.) Tonight, it’s the championship finale. The best sandwich will be crowned. Best. Sandwich. Ever.

“Toy Hunter” (Travel 8 p.m.) The “buying and selling people’s old crap” genre focuses in on toys.
