The Reel New Mexico Film Series, an ongoing program of monthly film screenings in Santa Fe, is looking for independent films by New Mexico filmmakers or films with a strong New Mexico connection. This year’s first screening will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. at The Performance Space at La Tienda in Eldorado on Thursday, Feb. 21. Subsequent programs will be on the second Thursday of each month. Reel New Mexico encourages members of the cast and crew to attend the screenings to discuss their work with audiences. Organizers of the series are actively seeking shorts, narrative and documentary features (preferably under 90 minutes in length) and exceptional student films. Nearly finished films may also be submitted by filmmakers wanting audience feedback before completion. There is no entry fee to submit your work to Reel New Mexico. A suggested $5 donation is solicited from audience members, with the proceeds beings split among the night’s participating filmmakers. For more information about getting your work seen, go to reelnewmexico.com.
