Thursday 14

“Ground Floor” (TBS 8pm) This new sitcom follows a successful banker (Skylar Astin) working on the “top floor” of a fancy office building who falls in love with a maintenance supervisor (Briga Heelan) working on the “ground floor.” Economic disparity is funny.

Friday 15

“Alpha House” (Amazon Whenever) So many TV shows premiere on places other than TV now that we’re sort of obliged to cover them. Today Amazon.com debuts its new web series “Alpha House,” starring John Goodman. Bill Murray, Haley Joel Osment, Wanda Sykes and Amy Sedaris are just a few of the future guest stars. It’s a foul-mouthed political satire from the mind of “Doonesbury” cartoonist Garry Trudeau.

Saturday 16

Twelve Trees of Christmas (Lifetime 6pm) It’s now: Hallmark 3, Lifetime 2. But this holiday-themed rom-com does star Mel B and Casper Van Dien, and I feel like Lifetime should get bonus points for that.

“As it Happened: John F. Kennedy 50 Years” (KRQE-13 7 p.m.) CBS puts in its two cents on the Kennedy anniversary.

The Challenger Disaster (Science 7pm) Science Channel tries a fictionalized drama about the space shuttle Challenger disaster. William Hurt plays Richard Feynman? I’m there!

“F… Nick Cannon” (Showtime 8pm) Nick Cannon tries his hand at a stand-up special addressing his recent health scares.

Sunday 17

“Almost Human” (KASA-2 7pm) A near-future LA cop (Star Trek’s Karl Urban) is assigned an android partner (Michael Ealy, Barbershop) in FOX’s newest sci-fi drama.

Catch a Christmas Star (Hallmark 6pm) The score officially stands at: Hallmark 4, Lifetime 2. And definitely no bonus points to Hallmark for hiring Shannon Elizabeth (American Pie).

“Letters to Jackie: Remembering President Kennedy” (TLC 7pm) TLC looks at the letters of condolence ordinary Americans sent to Jackie Kennedy after the assassination of her husband.

Monday 18

“Doctor Who: Tales From the TARDIS” (BBC America 7pm) The Christmas/50th Anniversary special must be getting close because the BBC is teasing us with “best of” clip shows.

Tuesday 19

“Esquire Special: Woman We Love” (Esquire 6pm) Ah now there’s the old Esquire we know and love. Ogling pictures of hot chicks: What could be more Esquire-esque?

“Risky Listing” (Esquire 7pm) See, this is what I’m coming to expect from the new Esquire Network: wan copies of reality shows from other networks. Here, for example, is one of those real estate selling shows.

“White Collar Brawlers” (Esquire 8pm) I once said Esquire was Spike TV with less punching. Guess I was wrong. Here, ordinary dudes settle squabbles in the boxing ring. Manly sports category locked.

“David Blaine: Real or Magic” (KOAT-7 8:30pm) David Blaine mystifies celebrities Kanye West, Harrison Ford, Will Smith, Olivia Wilde and Stephen Hawking with his “magic.” … Well, maybe not Stephen Hawking.

Wednesday 20

“How I Rock it” (Esquire 8pm) NBA star Baron Davis visits athletes, musicians, designers and other celebrities to talk style. Fashion category locked.

“Alternate Route” (Esquire 8:30pm) Esquire seems to have the travel show category pretty well-filled (“Boundless,” “The Getaway”), but adds this cross-country series featuring adventurous photographer Matt Hranek anyway.
