Week in Sloth
“A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” (KOAT-7 7 pm) This year it comes with the bonus cartoon “This is America, Charlie Brown: The Mayflower Voyages.” It’s clipped from an educational series that ran in 1988 and—unlike every other “Peanuts” cartoon—shows Charlie Brown and co. interacting with actual adults.
“Lady Gaga & The Muppets’ Holiday Spectacular” (KOAT-7 8:30pm) I’m leaning toward “completely awesome,” although “totally freaking weird” also applies.
Non-Stop (Lifetime Movie Network 6pm) Lacey Chabert (“Party of Five”) has a “brief liaison” with a stranger on plane which results in some sort of deadly terrorism situation. Like brief liaisons often do.
“Garth Brooks, Live From Las Vegas” (KRQE-13 8pm) Long-retired country singer Garth Brooks is acting pretty un-retired this week, releasing an 8-CD set at Walmart and performing the songs of his favorite musicians live from Las Vegas.
Let It Snow (Hallmark 6pm) Hallmark 6, Lifetime 3.
Dear Secret Santa (Lifetime 6pm) We appreciate the work you’re putting in, Lifetime. Really we do. Hiring Jordin Sparks, Della Reese and Tatyana Ali from “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air” for this week’s cheesy, made-for-TV holiday rom-com is inspired. But you’re still falling behind. Hallmark 6, Lifetime 4.
The Christmas Spirit (Hallmark 6pm) That’s the true holiday spirit, Hallmark: Quantity over quality! Hallmark 7, Lifetime 4
Christmas in Conway (KOAT-7 7pm) Andy Garcia builds a Ferris wheel in his backyard as a Christmas present for his wife, Mary-Louise Parker. The wife better have cancer or something, otherwise this is just silly. ... She does? Good. I mean “dramatically appropriate.”
Treme (HBO 7pm) Seemed like this New Orleans-set drama ended the last season on a fairly definitive, series-ending note. Apparently not. It’s back for a fourth season with the Big Easy celebrating the election of Barack Obama.
“Keeping Up With the Kardashians: A Very Merry Christmas” (E! 9:30pm) Oh, look, it’s the Kardashian clan, filmed back in May or so, pretending it’s Christmas.
“Brody Stevens: Enjoy It!” (Comedy Central 10pm) Stand-up comedian (and frequent “Chelsea Lately” guest) Brody Stevens stars in CC’s first ever “dramatic comedy” series with this Zach Galifianakis-
“A Very Shelby Christmas” (History 8pm) So how do bayou-swelling redneck hicks like Shelby the Swamp Man celebrate the holidays? I’m guessing something gator-related.
“Christmas in Rockefeller Center” (KOB-4 7pm) The 81st annual New York City tree lighting-ceremony welcomes expected guests Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Kelly Clarkson, The Goo Goo Dolls and Jewel.
“Kirstie” (TV Land 8pm) Kirstie Alley stars as a Broadway diva who reunites with the schlubby, doughnut-baking dude she gave up for adoption 26 years ago. He moves into her Park Avenue condo and hijinks ensue.
