Reel World: Acting! Acting!

The New Mexico Film Foundation is bringing back its annual Actor’s Showcase. This chance for local acting talent to show off its chops live on stage with a director will take place March 26, 2016, at the South Broadway Cultural Center. Video audition submissions will be taken starting Dec. 1. Actors can submit a video of no more than 2 minutes and place themselves in one of four categories (17 and under, beginners with 0 to 10 film or TV roles, intermediate with 11 to 20 roles and advanced with 21-plus roles). Each submission will be judged by local casting directors and talent agents to determine the top five actors in each category. These 20 actors will be invited to do their audition live in March in front of an audience. The best actor from each category will be selected and awarded a number of prizes. For a complete list of rules and contest details, go to nmfilmfoundation.org/nmff-actor-showcase.
