“Anne With an ‘E’” (Netflix streaming anytime) Netflix re-titles Lucy Maude Montgomery’s beloved children’s novel, but keeps the rest of it fairly faithful. This Canandian-made version gets a bit darker than previous adaptations, but retains the spirit of Montgomery’s plucky orphan lass.

The World’s Greatest Sinner (TCM 12:30am) This bizarro cult film from 1962 is written, directed, produced by and stars character actor Timothy Carey. It’s most famous for the fact that the score is composed by a very young Frank Zappa.

“Promposal” (MTV 8:30pm) Evidently stupid teenagers are now spending thousands of dollars and untold effort on crafting increasingly elaborate ways in which to ask one another out on prom dates. I’m sure that glorifying the practice on an MTV docu-reality show won’t exacerbate the problem.
“What Happens at the Abbey” (E! 11pm) What goes on behind the scenes in the lives of sexy staff members of the world-famous Hollywood bar The Abbey? I’m sure this not-at-all-scripted reality show will let you know.
“Year Million” (National Geographic 7pm) This six-part “documentary drama” speculates what it will be like to be human one million years in our future. Today’s brightest futurists, scientists, scholars and science fiction writers show viewers what technological innovations await us, as seen through the eyes of one fictional family.
Mommy Dead and Dearest (HBO 8pm) This true crime story follows the tragic tale of Dee Dee Blanchard and her daughter Gyspy Rose, both of whom became entangled in a controversial psychological condition known as Munchausen by proxy syndrome.
“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” (KOAT-7 9pm) Badass spirit of vengeance Ghost Rider (Gabriel Luna) makes a welcome return appearance as the agents try to prevent alluring android Aida (Mallory Jansen) from destroying the world in this season’s finale.
