Herod's Law

In this sarcastic comic fable (set in 1949 Mexico), a naive sewage worker is elected mayor of a tiny Mexican town after the last four mayors end up lynched for corruption. It's not long before our protagonist realizes he's been set up to do the bidding of the town's powerful political elite--and it's not long after that, that he starts living up to his predecessors' wily ways. Frantic, controversial and quite funny. In Spanish with English subtitles. 120 minutes
