Wondering why times are missing?

No Good Deed (2003)

This small indie film is based on a short story by Dashiell Hammett ("The House on Turk Street"), is directed by Bob Rafelson (Five Easy Pieces, The Postman Always Rings Twice) and stars Samuel L. Jackson, Milla Jovovich and Stellan Skarsgard. It's a pretty good pedigree that the film never quite lives up to. Jackson plays a police detective who, while looking for a runaway, stumbles across a bizarre band of street criminals planning a big bank robbery. They take him hostage and leave him tied up with a manipulative young hottie (Jovovich). Mind games ensue. The film was quietly snuck into theaters overseas several months ago and is finally making its way stateside. Not a good sign. 103 minutes
