This 1941 comedy is concidered by many to be one of legendary director Preston Sturges' finest works. Story follows a good-natured, but naive Hollywood film director (Joel McCrea) who hits the rails during Depression-era America hoping to find inspiration for a film on the poor and downtrodden. Our hero gets a rude awakening, but he does hook up with a down-on-her-luck actress played by Veronica Lake. (Yow!) Movie trivia tidbit: The film Sullivan wants to make is called O Brother, Where Art Thou?
