This ultra-low-budget B-movie from 1945 is considered today one of the finest noir films to come out of Hollywood. Tom Neal plays a New York City piano player hitchhicking to Los Angeles. When the sleazy gambler he's riding with dies, he steals the guy's car and "borrows" his identity. Unfortunately, a tough temptress (the appropriately named Ann Savage) sees through his ruse and starts blackmailing him. Wicked fun! Part of The Guild's Film Noir series. Double featured with Nightfall. 67 minutes
