The Mutations

This long-lost shocker from 1973 England is one of the few films directed by famed cinematographer Jack Cardiff (Black Narcissus, The Red Shoes). It's a certifiably trashy horror flick about a mad scientist (Donald Pleasance, Halloween) who sets out to make a race of giant plant monsters. Naturally, he hides his rejects in a nearby circus freakshow (run by a deformed Tom Baker of "Doctor Who" fame). The film features a number of real-life circus sideshow performers, including William "Popeye" Ingram, Felix "Frog Boy" Duarte and O.T. the Human Pincushion. 92 minutes
