Wondering why times are missing?

Renowned photojournalist/filmmaker Gordon Parks (Shaft) directed this evocative 1976 biopic about Blues legend Huddie Leadbetter ("Rock Island Line," "The Midnight Special"). Roger E. Mosley (probably best known for his work on "Magnum P.I.") stars as the music icon and takes the controversial character through his lifelong ups and downs in the Great Depression and beyond. Parks' film does an even better job than Taylor Hackford's Ray of showing how true Blues evolves naturally from rough life circumstances. Our subject is never treated as a hero, but as a real person who made good and bad choices in his life. Raw, honest and loaded with great music. 126 minutes
